The Piper J-3 cub kit can be used on layouts with eras starting from the mid 1930s to the present day.

The Piper J-3 cub was built between 1937 and 1947 as a trainer. It utlized tandem (for and aft) seating. It was built using simple tube and fabric construction, this allowed Piper to produce over 20,000 units. The J-3 cub has seend many different variations. It is very common to see this aircraft at airports and grass fields all over the world.
